Owners and admins bring people in from **Members**, then **Invitations**. Invite someone you know by name, or share a **join link** with people who aren't on exclusively.me yet, and approve each request. Then give out seats from the member list and sort people into groups, like Seniors and Juniors, so campaigns can be aimed at them.

## Before you start

- You're the team's owner or an active admin.
- The team has seats ([Start a team](/guides/start-a-team)); until it does, nobody can join.

## The steps

::: step Invite someone you know
In Team HQ, open **Members**, then **Invitations**, then **Invite**. Search by username, name or whole email address, or pick from **Your connections**. Press **Invite** on a person, choose their **Role** (Member or Admin) and a **Group**, then **Send invitation**. It's emailed to them, from the team, with the team's picture.
:::

*Screen: Invite: a connection opened with Role, Group and what the team asks to see, and Share a join link on the right.*

::: step Choose what the team asks to see
Under **Team can**, tick what you're asking each person for: to see their statistics, manage their pages, or see their email address. Switch on **Required** only where joining depends on it; they see that before they say yes. A team always sees who's a member and which groups they're in, and nothing more without agreement.
:::

::: step Share a join link
For people who aren't on exclusively.me yet, use **Share a join link** and press **Copy**. Anyone with the link can sign up free and ask to join; the request lands in the **Requests** tab and on Overview for you to approve. **Manage links** (in Settings) lets you name links, like *Club night*, and switch one off at any time.
:::

::: step Give out seats
In **Members**, each person's status says **Team seat**, **Own Pro** (they pay for themselves and need no seat) or **Needs a seat**. Open the ⋮ menu on someone who needs one and press **Allocate seat**. **Remove seat** in the same menu gives a seat back.
:::

*Screen: Members: each person's status, and one member's ⋮ menu with Allocate seat and Manage groups.*

::: step Make groups and put people in them
Open **Groups** and press **+ Add a group**. To put someone in one, use their ⋮ menu under Members, then **Manage groups**. A person can be in several groups, and a group is archived, never deleted. Campaigns in the message house can be for some groups only.
:::

*Screen: Groups: each group with its member count, and + Add a group at the top.*

## Check it worked

The person shows in **Members** once they accept, or in **Invited** until then. Overview's Actions list anything waiting for you: a request to answer, a member who needs a seat, an invitation that needs a parent's email.

## If something's different

### I can't find someone by email
Search needs their whole email address. If they don't have an account yet, send them a join link instead.

### The invitation asks for a parent's email
They're under 18. See [Members under 18 and the parent's agreement](/guides/members-under-18).

### Someone says they can't open the team
They need a seat, or their own Pro, before their member view opens. Allocate them a seat from their ⋮ menu.

## Do it with your AI

Inviting people and giving out seats aren't offered to an AI yet, so do those here. Your AI can create and rename groups and put people in them, as a proposal you approve: *"Make groups for Seniors and Juniors, and put Jo and Riley in Juniors"*.

## Why it's worth it

Everyone in one list, with a seat each and a group each, means you can see at a glance who's set up, and every campaign you plan reaches exactly the right people.
