Let people save your contact details in one tap

Make your page stand out guide 6 of 7 Next: Make a VIP area with an access code

A contact card (a vCard, the file phones use for contacts) lets someone save you to their phone in one tap: name, email, web address and picture, and on Pro your company, job title, phone, address and a note. You fill it in once, add a Save my details button to your page, and every visitor who taps it has you in their contacts, spelled right.

Before you start

  • A page (claim your name).
  • Name and email are on every plan. Company, job title, phone, address and a note need Pro.

The steps

  1. Fill in your card

In Settings, open Contact card. Type your first and last name. Leave Email on the card empty to use your account's address, or put the one you want customers to use. Your page's address and your picture are added for you. On Pro, add your company, job title, phone number, address and a note. Press Save contact card.

Settings, Contact card: your name and the email for the card.
  2. Add a Save my details button

In your page's editor, under Quick add, press Save my details and Save. Drag it near the top: it's one of the most useful buttons for anyone who'll want to call you back.

  3. Give a page its own card (when it's someone else)

If a sub-page is a different identity (your trade side, a band, a second business), open that page's editor, go to the Contact tab and tick Give this page its own contact card. It starts as a copy of your account card for you to change. Untick it and the page goes back to your account card.

A page's Contact tab: its own card, here for a wholesale page with a different email and phone.
  4. Share the card directly too

The card has its own address: your page's address with /vcard on the end, like exclusively.me/yourname/vcard. Put it in an email signature, or turn it into a QR code for a trade-show stand.

Check it worked

Open your page on your phone and tap Save my details: your phone offers to add the contact, with your name, email, page and picture.

If something's different

My phone shows the file instead of adding it

Some phones and apps ask first; choose to open it with Contacts.

The card shows the wrong email

Check Email on the card in Settings, and if the page has its own card, the page's Contact tab.

Where did my company and phone go?

Those fields are Pro. After a downgrade they're kept but not put on the card.

Why it's worth it

"I'll message you" gets forgotten; a saved contact doesn't. One tap puts your name, number and page in their phone, ready for the next time they need a cake, a quote or a driver.

Make a VIP area with an access code

Put a code on a page so only the people you give it to can open it, decide how long it stays unlocked, and keep it out of every search.
